ESSAY 3 : Intan Rafiza

BIOGRAPHY

B.1981. Intan Rafiza is a curator and artist. She participated in the 5th Gwangju Biennial International Curator Course, South Korea, (2013) , curatorial workshop by Japan Foundation, Curation Now at Kuala Lumpur (2014). She has also curated and co-curated M50: Selamat Hari Malaysia, an exhibition in conjunction of 50TH  Malaysia day with 40 galleries  (2013) , Power, Hopes And Land: Malaysia 55TH  year independence Day, an exhibition from the national collection and invited contemporary Malaysian artist (2012), Solo Exhibition by Latif Maulan: With(out) at Whitebox, PUBLIKA, Kuala Lumpur (2012), . She had her first solo exhibition, Pertama, at Shah Alam Gallery, Malaysia (2008). Her artwork and performance art has also been exhibited both locally and abroad. Such as one of the performance artist in 5th Beyond Pressure Festival, Myanmar (2012),performance art: ‘Baby Blues’, Urbanscapes, KLPAC (2010), ‘I’m Not Here, Nor There’ in collaboration with Malaysia, Indonesian &  Japan Artist at  National Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur(2004). She has participates as a voluntary facilitator Tsunami Victims Art Workshop (UNICEF); Laman Padi, Langkawi Island, Kedah (2006), mission to Afghanistan as International Observer for General Election & Parliamentary Election (2004 & 2005). She holds bachelor degree of Fine art from Mara University of Technology (Malaysia, 2003).
